Carries

April 2025 – October 2026 Independent
Site Manager | OSM Thome | Bibby Marine Limited
As the Owners' Representative and Site Manager, I was responsible for
overseeing the construction of a new 90-metre battery-electric and hybrid
dual-fuel Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (eCSOV) at Armon Shipyard in
Vigo. I led the Owners' Site Team, supervising construction activities and
ensuring compliance with contractual technical specifications, approved
drawings, quality standards and project requirements.
I coordinated the daily activities of the Site Team with the rest of
inspectors (steel, painting, mechanical, piping and electrical), working
closely with the shipyard's project management, engineering and production
departments, subcontractors and other parties involved in the newbuilding
project. My responsibilities included monitoring construction progress,
reviewing work priorities, identifying potential delays and following up on
outstanding technical issues to support the achievement of project milestones.
I oversaw quality control activities throughout the different
construction stages, coordinating technical inspections and monitoring
compliance with the applicable standards and specifications. This included
identifying and managing non-conformities (NCRs), safety observation cards
(SOCs) and punch list items, as well as following up on corrective actions
implemented by the shipyard.
I acted as the main technical liaison between the Owners, the Site Team
and the shipyard, participating in progress meetings, reviewing technical
documentation and addressing construction-related concerns. I also monitored
Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) matters and provided regular progress
updates and technical reports to the Owners' management team.
July 2022 – April 2025 Marine Surveyor | Evdemon & Partners
As a Marine Surveyor, I carried out casualty and condition surveys on
commercial vessels worldwide on behalf of Hull & Machinery (H&M)
Underwriters, Protection & Indemnity (P&I) Clubs and other maritime
interests. My assignments involved investigating a wide range of marine
casualties, including machinery breakdowns, groundings, collisions, fires and
other incidents affecting vessel safety and operation.
I conducted on-site technical inspections to assess the nature and
extent of damage to hull structures, machinery and associated shipboard
systems. My responsibilities included evaluating the reported circumstances,
reviewing available technical documentation, assessing damage and repair
requirements, and preparing detailed survey reports presenting technical
findings and recommendations to the interested parties.
I also performed pre-purchase inspections, general condition surveys and
towage approval surveys, assessing the overall condition of vessels, including
their hull structures, machinery installations, safety arrangements and
operational capabilities. These inspections involved identifying existing
deficiencies, evaluating associated risks and providing independent technical
assessments.
Additionally, I carried out specialised risk assessment and condition
surveys in accordance with Joint Hull Committee requirements, including JH
2019/007A (Engine Room, Machinery and Bunker Fuel Risk Assessment), JH
2013/007B (General Condition Survey) and JH 2013/007C (Crew and Office
Management Assessment).
January 2018 – June 2022 Project Manager | ASTICAN Canary Shipyards S.A.
As a Ship Manager at the beginning and then as Project Manager, I was
responsible for managing and coordinating ship repair and maintenance projects
during dry-docking and quayside operations, involving commercial vessels and
offshore units.
My responsibilities included supervising project execution, coordinating
production activities and ensuring that repair works were completed in
accordance with the agreed technical specifications, budgets and delivery
schedules.
I developed and monitored project work schedules, established
operational priorities and coordinated the activities of shipyard departments
and subcontractors. I worked directly with shipowners, technical
representatives and production teams to address technical challenges and
minimise potential delays during project execution, as well as managing the
financial aspects of assigned projects, including cost monitoring, invoice
discussion with shipowners and approval of subcontractor final invoices.
