Our Panama office serves as a strategic base for delivering comprehensive marine insurance surveying services across the US Gulf, Caribbean Sea, Central America, and Northern South America. With its prime location near the Panama Canal, the office ensures swift and cost-effective access to key ports in these regions, allowing us to efficiently meet the needs of Principals.
Experienced Team Members

Martin is our Senior Partner overseeing and supervising the service delivery of all offices in the Americas, namely: Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Asuncion and Panama.
Martin is also carrying out all type of marine casualty work for major H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs. He is carrying out auditing and risk assessment processes for various marine clients in the area, as well as delivering consultancy services and expert advice for clients and before courts in various countries in Latin America.
Martin is also developing and delivering marine training to various Owners and other marine clients on ISM Code aspects, Incident Investigation and root cause analysis tools and techniques, as well as on various marine technical aspects.
With his background as a Principal Engineer Surveyor and various management roles he performed in Lloyd’s Register for more than 16 years, in dealing with ship’s in service and new construction in Far East shipyard, that took him through offices in Buenos Aires, Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, Martin brought a wealth of marine surveying experience in all ship types and both in-service and new construction fields.
Martin has also expertise in condition/loss prevention surveys and risk assessment such as JH 2013/007A (Engine Room, Machinery and Bunker Fuel Risk Assessment), JH 2013/007C (Crew and Office Management Assessment) and also having an in-depth knowledge of shipyards in Latin America and the Caribbean area, including carrying our Risk Assessment of yards (JH 143).

Ricardo worked in a number of local shipyards since 2017 (6 years), out of which for the last 3 years in Talleres Industriales Shipyard – TIS (the most highly qualified contractor in Panama) as a Senior Project Supervisor in all types of major Hull, Machinery, Crane and outfitting repairs / retrofits, including Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) plants, crane repairs (with expertise in Liebherr electrohydraulic cranes and equipment). During his employment in TIS, he was also involved in various types of hull underwater repairs, developing jointly with divers underwater welding applications, as well as H&M damage inspections and repairs specifications/quotations, after which he possesses valuable experience and expertise in damage assessment and repairs / cost evaluation thereof.
Moreover, in his early steps of shipyard employment, he was involved in the design and construction of an aluminium hull catamaran, now used for bathymetric scanning.
He has been dealing with all types of H&M casualty surveys / work, as well as condition surveys. He is fluent in English.

Juan Pablo is leading our operations in Brazil by overseeing and managing Surveyors of Rio de Janeiro office and often providing his support to our Panama office operations, allocating surveying work and managing the service delivery to all clients in Brazil. He also accumulated a significant experience in a wide range of casualty surveying for major H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs, including major main engine damages, fire damages, engine room flooding, groundings and wreck removal operations.
He is leading our technical team in Warranty Surveys such as Towage Approval, Heavy Lift/Project Cargo operations, often undertaking projects for the energy sector. In this capacity, Juan Pablo has developed towage calculation tools and risk assessment techniques, to the highest recognized international standards.
Juan Pablo also possesses a vast knowledge of the LATAM shipyards and repair facilities in Brazil and the major South/Central America geographical region, combined with strong relationship with Brazilian Maritime Authorities at top level and the local maritime and energy sector community in general. In this context he has also carried out a number of JH143 Shipyard Risk Assessment Warranty surveys in the region, including a submarine building yard in Brazil.

Donaxi is a Marine/Offshore Engineer, who graduated with a BA in Naval Architecture from the Technological Institute of Boca del Rio, in Mexico.
Donaxi has worked as Project Manager and Cost Estimator in yacht repairs and conversions and has acquired experience in planning and monitoring both engine & hull repairs, including the supervision of relevant material supply chain and labour costs.
She is attending and reporting upon a variety of H&M casualties of all types as well as condition surveys, becoming an integral member of our Panama office Surveyors team.
She is fluent in English

With a strong background in commerce and finance, he adds expertise to our accounting department, to streamline operations and implement improvements and new solutions.
Lucas is fluent in English and knowledgeable in Portuguese.

She holds a BA from UVA (Universidade Veiga de Almeida) and concurrently with her job works towards acquiring an MBA in Foreign Trade from IBMR University Center.
