Martin J is dealing with all type of H&M casualty work, including major machinery and hull damages, as well as condition surveys for major H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs in the Americas region

Martin have a solid experience in investigating and dealing with incidents at port terminals on behalf of major H&M Underwriters and major P&I Club. He also achieved the certification as operator for Sherlog TA ultrasonic testing and is supervising the US testing and certification scheme for Surveyors in Buenos Aires office.

After his early retirement as a Prime Serve Diesel Manager-Director of MAN Diesel Argentina, Aldo joined our Buenos Aires office team as an Engineer Expert / Senior Associate Surveyor, undertaking and engaging in all kinds of machinery damage surveys in LATAM, providing his expertise and in-depth knowledge, particularly in major main and auxiliary engines failures and repairs thereof.

Aldo’s vast and accumulated experience and high expertise attained in his 25-year career before he joined our team, included initially 10 years as Head of Assembly & Test Bed Dept. for Diesel Engines, followed by a subsequent 15 years career as an MAN Prime Serve Service Engineer and Director for Brasil & Argentina.

Aldo has been engaged in a variety of Main Engine and machinery damage surveys on behalf of H&M Underwriters, by also sharing his expertise for providing cost-effective solutions and results in major Main Engine failures and damage repairs.

Aldo’s expertise on MAN engines design, operational features and maintenance/repairs, has proven valuable to our Principals, in causation analysis of main & auxiliary engines failures and convoluted engine damage repairs.

He also possesses comprehensive knowledge of shipyards practices and tariffs for all kinds of machinery and engine repairs in LATAM.

With his vast and accumulated experience and high expertise attained in his 24-year career before he came on board our team, Giacomo is assigned the role of a Senior Surveyor in our BA office, undertaking a variety of Casualty, Warranty and Risk Assessment / Loss Prevention surveys for H&M Underwriters & P&I Clubs.

Having initially served as an Oceangoing engineer reaching the rank of Chief Engineer for 4 years in Oil & Chemical Tankers, followed by 4 years seagoing service on board large cruise liners.

He was then employed as Superintendent Engineer and Fleet Manager in a number of shipping companies for 9 years until 2016, when he joined RINA Classification Society Buenos Aires and Montreal offices as a ‘Ships in Service’ Senior Marine Surveyor and ISM/ISPS Auditor-MLC Inspector for a total of 7 years, before joining our team.

As such, he possesses an in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of all hull, machinery, safety and regulatory aspects of oceangoing vessels and large cruise liners, as well as shipyards practices and tariffs for all kinds of H&M repairs in LATAM and worldwide.

He is fluent in English and Spanish, whereas Italian is his native tongue.

Head of Administration

Lucas holds a BA in International Commerce/Trade and has worked in several administrative and accounting positions, one of them being in Australia. With a strong background in commerce and finance, he adds expertise to our accounting department, to streamline operations and implement improvements and new solutions.

Lucas is fluent in English and knowledgeable in Portuguese.

Juliana provides general administrative assistance to Rio surveyors as well as being responsible for all receivables from invoicing to fee collection supervision for all our offices in South America.

She holds a BA from UVA (Universidade Veiga de Almeida) and concurrently with her job works towards acquiring an MBA in Foreign Trade from IBMR University Center.
